Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge

The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) has launched the Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge in mid October. The challenge aims to form the foundation of a new marketplace driving $500m of investment into coastal natural capital. It’s open to individual or consortiums of organizations across public, private, local civil society, international NGOs and academia.

Adaptation & Resilience Solutions: The investment opportunity to grow the sector

During the COP26 Finance Day (3rd November 2021), the Resilience Hub hosted a side event to showcase the increasing range of adaptation and resilience innovations, as well as to discuss opportunities and barriers to scaling them. The panel discussion included speakers from Climate-KIC, Global Resilience Partnership, CDC Group, BFA Global, The Lightsmith Group, PayPal and FMO, the Dutch Development Bank.

Nature is a critical component to scaling up climate change adaptation and resilience. However, financing mechanisms are needed to mainstream approaches such as Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), which is the operationalisation of nature-based solutions for climate adaptation, to reach the communities who need them the most. A recent session at CBA15 discussed challenges of scaling up and financing EbA in Africa, with a focus on the role of innovation.

The Resilience Knowledge Coalition is excited to announce the launch of the Global South Talent Pool. The Global South Talent Pool is an internship programme for graduates and young experts from the Global South. This programme includes capacity building, experience exchange, and support for the graduates and young experts.
