Sida is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world.

Sida helps reduce poverty in the world. Their support contributes to economic and political development in poor countries. This strengthens their democracy and creates conditions for people to lift themselves out of poverty. The objective of Sida is to create opportunities for people living in poverty and under oppression to improve their living conditions. Through their work and in cooperation with others, Sida contributes to implementing Sweden’s Policy for Global Development.
