Lead organisation: Africa Harvest Enterprises
The Africa Eco-Soil Project deploys an innovative waste upcycling technology that converts biodegradable organic waste into eco-friendly, affordable and sustainable propagating solutions for farmers in Tanzania. The project is addressing the need for organic inputs to foster sustainable agricultural practices while leveraging waste as a resource.
About one-third of all food produced globally goes to waste, along with the resources used to grow, process, and distribute it. The environmental consequences of producing food that no one eats are massive, leading to extreme levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Africa Harvest Enterprises Limited is a climate- smart manufacturing project that deploys an innovative waste-upcycling technology capable of converting biodegradable organic waste into valuable solutions for farmers in Tanzania. The project aims to leverage organic waste from communities and convert it into a valuable agricultural product by recycling wasted organic nutrients to complement sustainable agricultural practices.
