Gates Foundation

The Gates Foundation addresses global inequality, advancing health, education, and development to improve lives and lower child mortality.

The Gates Foundation works to reduce inequality and improve opportunity so that everyone can live a healthy and productive life. Established in 2000, it focuses on areas where public and private sectors alone cannot meet people’s needs, such as child health, infectious diseases, agriculture, gender equality, and education in the United States. By working with governments, researchers, businesses, and communities, the foundation helps expand access to vaccines, support innovation in health and development, and strengthen education systems. Since its founding, it has provided more than $53 billion in funding, contributing to a halving of global child mortality and supporting progress towards more equitable systems worldwide.
