The Intergovernmental Authority on Development is the Regional Economic Community of the Horn of Africa for peace, prosperity, and regional integration.

IGAD focuses on six priority areas:

Agriculture, livestock and fisheries development
Natural resources and environment protection
Social Development
Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration
Peace and Security
