ALIVE: African Land, Inclusion, and Voices for Equity

This group focuses on gender equity and land rights in East and Southern Africa, using participatory action research and social ecological systems thinking to address issues like insecure land rights and land degradation.

This intergenerational working group will unite diverse intermediary organisations that focus on land rights, climate change, gender equity, and ecosystem-based services. The group will co-create transformative pathways for gender equity and land rights in East and Southern Africa to enhance resilience. Through a participatory action research approach using social ecological systems thinking and an intersectional lens, this working group seeks to address pressing challenges on insecure land rights,  land degradation inequalities, and exclusion. By bridging gaps between local communities, practitioners, policymakers, and funders through innovative knowledge brokering approaches, we hope to facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen local capacities for transformative change.
