Jeske van de Gevel

Jeske is a participatory designer and applied scientist with over 15 years of experience supporting organisations to develop inclusive, evidence-based solutions to complex development and climate challenges. She has been based in Nairobi since 2012 and has worked extensively across Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa. She specialises in design-led research, co-creation, and citizen science approaches that turn insights into actionable, scalable programmes. She holds a PhD in Participatory Design from the University of York and bridges research, innovation, and decision-making to deliver real-world impact.
