FarmBetter

FarmBetter is a mobile app that provides personalised mobile advisory services for commercial smallholder farmers in developing countries. FarmBetter starts by assessing the farmer’s resilience through a short survey and mining databases based on the farmer’s geolocation. It creates a personalised resilience profile of farmers in order to connect them with tailored solutions to improve their resilience and connect with each other and their knowledge. The databases provide data on environmental conditions as well as what practices they conduct on their farm and what they want to improve. In-depth information is provided in text, voice and visually to the farmer to learn and adopt solutions. While solutions are targeted to farmers, the platform is scalable worldwide.
