Actions after Impacts

Special Implementation Lab to honour the memory of Professor Saleemul Huq

Non-Party Stakeholders delivering concrete solutions to address Loss and Damage

The world is grappling with unprecedented challenges posed by climate change with devastating impacts on vulnerable communities in the global south. These communities are experiencing increasing levels of loss and damage (L&D) due to extreme weather events, gradual environmental degradation, and other climateinduced disruptions for which they have not caused.

The Lab will open with tributes to Professor Saleemul Huq. Who was a relentless advocate for the most climate-vulnerable populations. His work significantly contributed to elevating their voices on the global stage.

Following these tributes there will be interactive sessions to move beyond the rhetoric and delve into concrete actions for addressing L&D, and to understand from the Non- Party Actors what action they are taking now and how these can go to scale.

The Lab will culminate with ‘Legacy of Action’ and the announcement of early career loss and damage research fellowship programme in Professor Huq’s name.
