PREPARE Call to Action to the Private Sector: Climate Adaptation Makes Business Sense

Join us and discuss with private sector partners on leveraging collective strengths to advance global climate resilience through PREPARE.

This year marks the warmest year on record, and we are seeing the impacts of the climate crisis around the world. President Biden launched a whole-of-government effort, PREPARE—the President’s Emergency Plan for Adaptation and Resilience– to help more than half a billion people in climate-vulnerable developing countries adapt to and manage climate impacts. Recognizing the critical role of the private sector’s innovation and ingenuity, USAID Administrator Samantha Power and former Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry launched the PREPARE Call to Action to the Private Sector in 2022 to challenge leading companies to demonstrate their business case for adaptation.

Come join a U.S. Government-led discussion with new private sector partners joining the Call to Action, featuring Senior Advisor to the President John Podesta, USAID’s Chief Climate Officer Gillian Caldwell, and the U.S. Development Finance Corporation, on how we can leverage our collective strengths to advance climate resilience around the world.
