Networking and Lesson Sharing by Catalytic Grant Award Winners

The Gobeshona Global Conference brings together policy-makers, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to share their knowledge and experiences on climate change issues with a focus on Locally-led Adaptation (LLA).

In a collaboration between the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), the Climate Justice and Resilience Fund (CJRF), and GRP, a catalytic grant was launched at the 7th Annual Gobeshona Conference in 2021, to support the implementation of ideas and relationships developed at the Gobeshona and Community Based Adaptation conferences. The purpose of these awards is to provide initial seed funding to incentivize partnerships and collaborations beyond event space to further develop ideas fostered during a conference. Ideally, these can then continue to be developed and can generate their own funding over time.

In 2021, 8 teams were each awarded a USD 5,000 grant. This session will showcase stories from the inaugural catalytic grant winners. Five teams will share results and lessons learned during the implementation of their projects and network with conference participants interested in applying for catalytic grants.

Speakers:

  • Opening Remarks by Dr Saleemul Huq, Director of ICCCAD
  • Closing Remarks by Heather McGray, Director of CJRF
  • Moderated by Shuchi Vora, GRP
