Job Opportunity: Research Assistant

The Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) is looking for a research assistant to contribute to the Seeds of Good Anthropocene (SOGA) project.

The Seeds of Good Anthropocene (SOGA) project was initiated in 2014. It is co-led by collaborators at the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) in Sweden, the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition (CST) in South Africa, and McGill University in Canada. The research assistant will gather data on seeds, but with a main focus on two specific sub-projects:

The first project focuses on food system in the Stockholm-Mälaren region in Sweden. This connects to ongoing work on food system transformation in Sweden.

The second project, is coordinated by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), and aims to identify local and regional initiatives with the potential to contribute to transformative action towards peace and stability in fragile and vulnerable regions. 

The research assistant is expected to collect data on seeds by liaising with partner representatives, “seed” representatives, surveying a broad suite of literature (peer-reviewed literature, project reports, grey literature) and even conduct virtual interviews. The research assistant is also expected to apply developed, analytical frameworks to code the data and store it in a database for future analyses and assessments. This roles requires being careful and rigorous, combining qualitative synthesis, with work with Excel and R.
