We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jesper Hörnberg as the new CEO. Jesper brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic vision for the Global Resilience Partnership’s future, ensuring continued growth and success.

The selection process for the new CEO was comprehensive and rigorous. An external recruitment process was conducted, resulting in a large number of applications from a diverse group of highly qualified candidates. Shortlisted candidates were invited to interviews and from these conversations, final candidates were invited to present and interview with the GRP management team and the review panel.

The review panel consisted of Shehnaaz Moosa (Director of SouthSouthNorth and CEO of the Climate Development Knowledge Network), Line Gordon (SRC Director), Simone Verkaart (GRP’s Head of Programmes), and Emma Ludvigsson (GRP’s Head of Operations). After a thorough and meticulous review process, the panel unanimously selected Jesper Hörnberg as the best fit for the role.

Jesper has been an integral part of GRP, currently serving as Head of Innovation and Scaling. In this role, he led GRP’s numerous challenge rounds, which have supported over 7 million people to become more resilient. His extensive knowledge of the organization’s operations, combined with his innovative approach and leadership skills, made him the standout choice to lead GRP into its next chapter.

“I am incredibly honoured and excited to take on the role of CEO at GRP,” said Jesper. “Having been a part of this amazing organisation for 10 years, I have seen firsthand the passion and dedication of our team and our partners. I am eager to lead GRP into its next phase of growth and innovation, building on our successes and our amazing partnership, and explore new opportunities. There is still much to do to make the world more an inclusive and equal place, where humans can thrive and live in harmony with nature. If there is one think I know it is this; it is only together that we can drive the positive change we need, striving towards a more resilient future, where everyone is able to participate on an equal basis.

Shehnaaz Moosa, a member of the review panel, commented on the appointment, saying, “We are delighted to have Jesper Hörnberg step into the role of CEO. His deep understanding of, and commitment to the partnership, coupled with his forward-thinking and inclusive mindset and proven leadership abilities, make him the ideal candidate to guide GRP into a promising future.”
