GRP x Rethink: Imagine all the people – a resilient future in 2050

The year is 2050, world population has reached 10 billion and the vast majority of people live in cities. The biosphere – for decades under catastrophic pressure – experienced a turn of fortune in 2030, when the sustainable development goals were declared a success. Climate change was halted below 2 degrees. Ecosystem restoration and protection secured degrading ecosystem services and coastlines. Investments in agriculture created resilient supply chains, and financial innovations placed resources in the hands of local communities. The tide was turned.

D&C Days 2019: Five Pathways to a Climate-Resilient Future

Almost 250 participants from the grassroots to policymakers discussed and debated our five themes through a respectful and lively dialogue, and together arrived at key messages that we will share at targeted events during the second week of COP25 and at key international milestones during 2020 on the road to COP26.

Accelerating action to build a resilient 1.5 degree world, MPGCA Resilience Roundtable at UNFCCC COP25

During the Roundtable, focused interventions from 21 speakers grounded the discussion amid different context and scales, and all stressed the need to bring action on resilience and adaptation on par with current investment in mitigation. Over 100 participants shared 238 insights on successful climate actions to accelerate transformational changes and to address barriers to implementing much needed changes.

Investing in Resilience: A Destination with Many Routes

Global Resilience Partnership’s 38 challenge winners are cutting multiple paths towards a resilient future, as our recent Investing in Resilience forum on 5 November 2019 showcased in London.
